Temperatures climbed to the middle 50s on average around the Cape today – with some spots on the Upper Cape making a run at 60F! This mild air will hang on through Thursday night but will soon be replaced by a more typical January air mass.
A cold front will cut through the region Thursday night and Friday morning, sweeping today’s unseasonably warm air to sea and ushering in much colder air on stiff northerly winds.
Readings in the 40s Friday morning will fall into the 30s during the afternoon and then free-fall to the 10s and 20s Friday night. Temperatures on Saturday will only climb to the upper 20s to lower 30s.
