Less Wind. Not Quite as Cold.

Arctic high pressure is beginning to shift to our south and east, meaning milder air is on the horizon.

After a weekend of very cold temperatures and strong, gusty, annoying northwest winds, Monday will be a bit of a transition day, as we await mild air off to our west.

We can expect a fair amount of sunshine through the day and somewhat milder temperatures as the core of the coldest air has shifted to our east. And with high pressure cresting over the region, winds will be much lighter than the past few days – which, when combined with March sunshine, will make the midday and afternoon hours feel much more comfortable, despite temperatures still slightly below average.

Expect afternoon highs in the 30s to near 40F.

Mild southwest winds will take hold on Tuesday and propel temperatures up to near 50F by day’s end.
