The weekend will close out on a cold, windy, January-esque note.
Arctic high pressure is building eastward into the region, funneling plenty of cold, dry air southward into the Northeast and New England, yielding a very cold couple of days for this first weekend in March (in fact this is some of the coldest air of the 2016-2017 winter season.)
The upshot to incoming high pressure will be an abundance of March sunshine today but it will be another frigid day. Temperatures in the 10s Sunday morning will only climb to 25 to 30F for afternoon highs and strong gusty northwest winds will only slowly abate over the course of the day.
Expect another very cold night tonight with temperatures falling into the 10s once again.
