Temperatures peaked between 70 and 80F yesterday – our warmest weather since early in the Fall. The 79F Patriot’s Day high temperature at Hyannis was very near the average for the 4th of July!
Unfortunately, this time of year, warm weather doesn’t stick around long.
Winds shifted to the north overnight and much cooler air bled into the area as high pressure pushed southward from Canada. And this cooler air will remain in place…overall…throughout the week.
Expect temperatures today to top out in the lower 50s (perhaps even holding in the upper 40s on parts of the Outer Cape), some 20 to 30F colder than yesterday.
