A large area of high pressure is building eastward into the area and will pass right over New England today and tonight. Beneath this fair weather cell, plenty of sinking air will mean lots of clear skies and pleasant April sunshine to close out the work week.
With the high pressure building overhead, winds will be rather light today, which is likely to result in afternoon seabreezes around the Cape. Thus, temperatures will peak in the 50s but may settle back a couple of degrees during the afternoon – especially right along the water’s edge.
Expect another chilly night tonight with pockets of frost a good bet as temperatures fall to the upper 20s and lower 30s across a good chunk of the Cape. Milder air will build in over the course of the upcoming holiday weekend.
