Hazy, Hot, Humid

A mid-summer-like air mass has shifted into the region and will remain in place through the day today and into Tuesday.

Temperatures on Sunday climbed to the 70s and lower 80s across the Cape as a gusty southwest wind off the water helped stave off the heat and humidity a bit.

We won’t be quite as fortunate today as winds off the water won’t be quite as strong, which will allow temperatures to soar well into the 80s across most of the Cape, with only the south-side shores holding in the 70s. Dew point values will gradually climb through the day, adding a humid feel to the air.

Temperatures will again climb into the 80s tomorrow, before a cold front slides through and knocks temperatures back and sweeps the humidity away for mid-week.

The frontal boundary is likely to be preceded by some showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon – one or two of which could be on the strong side.
