Showers spilled through the area this morning as a surge of increasingly muggy air lifted northward into the region.
Dew point values climbed to the upper 60s overnight and approached 70F this morning. However, as clouds and showers shifted eastward and sunshine developed this afternoon, temperatures climbed to the upper 70s to lower 80s across much of the Cape and dew points climbed even further, reaching the lower and middle 70s.
Unfortunately, today marks the beginning of a lengthy stretch of humid air.
While we’ll get a break in the steamy weather Thursday night and into Friday (but the weather will be unsettled), humid conditions (dew points at or above 65F) will be a common theme for the next 5 to 7 days.
