We are rolling through the proverbial “dog days of summer” with typical early August weather –> sunny, warm and humid conditions.
Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s to middle 80s across the Cape today and humidity levels will remain quite high (dew point values averaging between 65 and 70F). And while our lawns and gardens could use a little rain, odds for wet weather locally are quite low.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop over the Northeast and New England during the midday and afternoon hours, but the focal point for this activity will be inland locations, away from the stabilizing marine influence. Consequently, while our neighbors to the north and west will be dodging torrential downpours this afternoon, it’s quite likely that we will remain dry through the day.
