Clear skies and light winds allowed temperatures to fall into the lower and middle 50s overnight across most of the Cape, leading to another cool early morning today. However, the air mass over the region is quite mild and the early morning chill will mix it out quickly after sunrise.
Readings will jump through the 60s over the first part of the morning and will approach 70F by mid to late morning. A continuation of mainly sunny skies during the midday and afternoon period will propel temperatures into the middle and upper 70s for high temperatures.
Visible satellite imagery this morning shows a bit of smoke (thus the slightly hazy appearance to the sky this morning) over the region, but otherwise clear skies locally. Clouds associated with the remnants of Hurricane Irma were located to our west and some of this moisture will gradually work its way toward our area later in the day and into tonight.
