The overall weather pattern in recent weeks has featured above average temperatures and that general weather theme looks to continue for the foreseeable future. The jet stream configuration continues to favor warm west and southwest winds across the eastern United States as a large upper air ridge remains in place. Any cold air intrusions from Canada have been relegated to the Northern Rockies and there are no big changes coming in the coming days.
As for today…expect partly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 60s to middle 70s around the Cape. There will be a slight hint of humidity in the air as that persistent southwest flow of air is tapping warmer and more humid air from the southern part of the country.
Anticipate similar conditions throughout the upcoming holiday weekend…though clouds will be on the increase later Sunday and odds for wet weather go up on Monday.
