Temperatures only climbed to the upper 30s and lower 40s on Sunday and it felt colder than that at times thanks to a gusty north and northeast wind. Winds settled down during the afternoon and the sun emerged from behind a departing deck of clouds…which helped make the late afternoon feel a bit more tolerable…but far from where we want to be this time of year.
A reinforcing surge of cold air moved into the area overnight and that means our Monday will be equally as cold as yesterday. Despite plenty of sunshine, temperatures today will only warm to 40 to 45F and a gusty west and northwest wind will persist over the area into the afternoon.
With clouds advancing later tonight (after temperatures fall into the 20s and lower 30s) and thickening up on Tuesday, similarly cold conditions are expected tomorrow. In fact, a weak weather system sliding by the area could give us a few mixed snow and rain showers during the afternoon.
