A fast-moving low pressure area will race northward from the Mid-Atlantic this morning and pass over Southern New England this afternoon and evening, lifting into Northern New England thereafter. This weather system, which appeared rather innocuous on computer guidance just a couple of days ago, will bring us another round of wet weather today and tonight.
While sunshine greeted us this morning, clouds will fill the sky over the course of the morning and will be followed rather quickly by incoming showers. Expect wet weather to overtake the area during the early afternoon hours and to continue through most of the remainder of the day.
Short-term model guidance and morning radar and satellite imagery suggest some downpours could lift up and over the area at times as well.
