A weak wave of low pressure is passing south of New England this morning and will shift seaward and away from the region over the course of the day today. This small storm center brought a shield of clouds and rain to the Mid-Atlantic states over the last 24 hours but has stayed just far enough south of the Cape to spare us a soaking rain.
While we have dodged a couple of sprinkles and some scattered showers around parts of the area this morning, the main impact from this system locally has been a gray start to Thursday.
With moisture slipping eastward and drier air returning from the north, we can expect clouds to shift away from our area over the course of the morning hours, with a trend toward sunnier skies as the day progresses…with a nice pleasant afternoon and evening anticipated around the Cape.
Temperatures in the middle and upper 60s this morning will reach into the 70s for afternoon highs.
This afternoon’s nice weather will lead into a comfortable night tonight and another very nice day tomorrow…with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s around the area.
