High pressure crested over the area on Monday and Monday night and will gradually slip offshore today.
Beneath this fair weather center, Monday featured plenty of afternoon sunshine, light winds, low humidity and temperatures in the 60s – an almost fallish feel to the day. Those same conditions led to a rather chilly Monday night as temperatures fell to the 40s in some spots under clear skies and calm winds.
With high pressure shifting to the south of the region today, a return flow of west and southwest winds will take hold of the region and transport milder (and eventually more humid) air back into the area.
Afternoon temperatures will peak in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
The only downside to the day will be a gusty southwest wind over the course of the afternoon.
