Warmer southerly winds developed on Thursday and are helping to transport a more seasonable air mass into the region as we close out the week. Temperatures this morning are already close to where we topped out for highs Wednesday and Thursday and we can expect to add another 10F or so degrees today…putting us around 70F or a bit higher this afternoon.
While most of the day will average out sunny, there is a small threat for a sprinkle, brief shower and maybe a rumble of thunder late in the day and into the evening. Short-term, high resolution model guidance continues to show isolated pop-up clouds/showers around Southern New England later today…and some products drift a bit of this activity out onto the Cape this evening. While odds are fairly low and any wet weather would be short-lived, don’t be shocked by a brief sprinkle or quick shower toward dinnertime.
