A cluster of showers and thunderstorms passing through Southern New England is bringing numerous downpours and some areas of street flooding to much of the region (not here on the Cape yet) to start the weekend.
During the mid-morning hours a supercell over far northeast Connecticut strengthened and very likely – based on damage reports thus far – spawned a tornado near Dudley and Webster MA. The National Weather Service is en route to the region to assess the damage and determine whether a tornado did develop.
