Clouds filled the sky first thing this morning and areas of fog and mist rolled in quickly thereafter. A look at regional radar imagery valid as of 8AM shows a large area of rain and embedded downpours moving quickly east-northeastward toward the Cape, destined to bring us a period of wet weather this morning.
Expect rain to overspread the Cape by mid-morning and for pockets of heavy rain to roll through our area at times through late morning…before tapering off near midday. Some localized pockets of street / basement flooding are possible in areas where multiple downpours train over the same neighborhoods.
Behind this fast-moving storm center, better weather will finally take hold of our area…just in time for the weekend.
Expect clouds to break later today and tonight and for clearing to take hold overnight tonight…with plenty of sunshine and blue sky anticipated throughout Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will be on the comfortable side and humidity levels will be low.
