A quickly deepening…but rather fast-moving…storm center approached the area last night and passed very near the Cape this morning.
This storm system brought about a 6-hour window of heavy, wind-driven rain overnight. Rainfall totals around the Cape were generally between 1 and 2 inches – continuing the theme of some very wet weather in recent weeks.
Monthly rainfall totals have passed 7 inches across most of the Cape and many locations have seen in excess of 8 inches of precipitation. As though that weren’t enough, we have one more round of heavy rain to go before the month is out…as another wind-swept rain will pass through the area Monday night.
Here are the rainfall totals posted to the CoCoRaHS network.
