A storm center passing west of the region on Sunday helped propel some warmer air northward into the region to close out the weekend. Temperatures on Sunday afternoon climbed well into the 50s thanks to a gusty, mild southerly wind. Unfortunately, the milder temperatures were accompanied by another round of soaking rain…as a general .75″ to 1.25″ of rain fell over the area.Looking ahead to the coming week…the first full week of December…we can expect quieter weather but a return of chilly temperatures.
A cold front will cross through the area on Monday (not before we enjoy one more mild day) and be followed by several waves of colder air throughout the remainder of the week and into next weekend. Temperatures will average out solidly on the colder side of normal from Tuesday through Sunday…with multiple days likely staying in the 30s. For reference, the average day time high for the first week of December in Hyannis is about 46F.
