Flash Freeze

Folks are advised to use extreme caution if heading out this afternoon and evening.

A remarkable temperature drop – on the order of 20 to 25 degrees in well under an hour and like 25 to 30 degrees over the matter of just a couple of hours – will pass over the Cape later this afternoon and early this evening, resulting in what is known as a “Flash Freeze”.

During a freeze of this nature, all standing water will freeze up rapidly…the result is often frozen car doors, walkways and front steps and very icy roads.
