As we move through the month of March, average temperatures really start to climb. At the start of the month, the average daily high temperature is just a touch over 40F…but my month’s end it’s up to 49F.
Of course, we all know, living in New England, that March can be a very frustrating month for those of us longing for some warmer more spring-like weather. And this week will be a classic example of that.
After snow this past weekend, we can expect a lengthy stretch of very cold temperatures to dominate through the work week.
Temperatures fell to the upper 10s to around 20F overnight and will struggle to get back to 30F this afternoon…despite a good deal of strong March sunshine. Even colder air will build into the area tonight behind a secondary frontal zone and both Wednesday and Thursday are likely to see daytime temperatures stuck in the 20s…with overnight lows well down into the 10s.
It’s likely we won’t see temperatures tick back above the 32F mark until Friday or Saturday.
