Our holiday weekend has kicked off gray and a bit wet as showers – and some embedded elements of heavier rain – are crossing over the area. This activity will linger over the Cape through midday and into the early part of the afternoon.
The good news isDrier air will reach eastward into our area during the early to middle part of the afternoon hours (1 to 3PM), as the rain shield slips eastward. Most model guidance shuts down the wet weather in that time period.
We should see brightening skies and hopefully some partial clearing later in the day as a the brunt of the moisture field shifts eastward.
Temperatures in the 50s this morning will reach the upper 50s and lower 60s around the Cape for afternoon highs…mildest away from the south-facing beaches where a busy southwest wind will keep things cooler.
