We finally managed to break out of the cloudy, damp, cool conditions today and got to enjoy some seasonable temperatures and times of sunshine.
However, low clouds and fog have been lurking offshore all day and have occasionally worked south and westward onto parts of the Cape. Thankfully, the strong end of May sun has fought off the cool marine layer for most of the area and eroded the cloud deck as it has worked into the area.
But the weather on the Cape is always interesting and challenging…
You can see on visible satellite imagery how the low clouds and fog are lurking along the beaches and offshore of the Outer Cape and even manage to snake inland in spots, following the inlet and cuts to Nauset Marsh / Town Cove and Pleasant Bay respectively. Pretty cool!
