It’s been a warmer than normal July thus far – with temperatures running 3F above the average through mid-month. Multiple days have topped out in the middle and upper 80s at Hyannis, where the average high this time of year is right around 80F.
Yesterday continued the theme of warmer than normal weather as temperatures reached 89F at Hyannis, 88F at Provincetown and 86F at Falmouth and Chatham. Today will be a bit closer to “normal” as highs will top out in the lower 80s.
Looking ahead to later in the week and into next weekend, there’s a strong signal for several days of hot and very humid weather as a ridge of high pressure flexes over the southeastern states and sets up a “perfect” delivery of heat.
Temperatures Friday, Saturday and likely Sunday should climb to the upper 80s to lower (middle?) 90s each day and dew point values will very likely climb to the lower to middle 70s.
Anticipate a stretch of very uncomfortable weather.
