Warmer than average temperatures continue to be the rule around the area this week. We’ve neared 80F on multiple occasions during the last several days and we’ve even had a touch of humidity in the air at times. Officially, Hyannis reached 76F, 81F, 76F, 79F and 78F from the 20th to the 24th and today we will once again climb to the middle 70s. For reference, the average high for this time of year is in the upper 60s.
Looking ahead to the next several days, we can expect a continuation of above average temperatures with highs at or above 70F expected today, tomorrow and into the weekend. The next shot for “cooler” temperatures isn’t expected until Monday.
As for rain chances…a frontal zone pressing eastward across the Northeast and New England will bring the threat for some evening showers to the area tonight and a similar set up will unfold Saturday night. Otherwise…sunshine will be the rule by day and there are no big weather-makers in store for at least the next 5 to 7 days.
