Mild Conditions

The first 2/3rds or so of December averaged out on the cooler side of “normal” across the region. However, a pattern change over the last week has allowed milder air to build into much of the lower 48 states and consequently things are turning “warmer” to close out the month.

Through yesterday, the month is running just .1F above the long-term average (so basically right at normal) at Hyannis but we are just about guaranteed a warmer than normal month based on the forecast to close out December.

Looking ahead to the next 5 to 7 days, there are no signs of arctic air and instead we’ll see several days reaching well into the 40s, with a few opportunities to approach or touch 50F ( today, Saturday and Tuesday).
