We finally managed to pick up some widespread meaningful rainfall this past weekend. While the month has averaged out cooler than normal and the weather pattern has been unsettled at times, most of the area has dodged a good soaking rain up until the last several days (though hit/miss showers and t-storms have brought some pockets of rain). Combining that with a dry May (just 1.56″ of precipitation in Hyannis…most of which came in one storm mid-month) and it’s been quite some time since we enjoyed a healthy drink of water across the entire area.
That came to an end on Saturday as rain fell off and on throughout the day and into the night, yielding a solid 1 to 2 inches of precipitation. Above are the rainfall totals posted to the Cocorahs Network.
