Another shot of polar air is on its way.
Thus far, November has been quite a chilly month – temperatures are averaging about 3F below “normal” at Hyannis – and it appears the cold trend will continue for the final week of the month. Expect two additional rounds of cold air to move through the region over the final days of the month, the first arriving tonight and the second arriving Tuesday. The first will yield a cold Saturday and Saturday night around the area and the second will lead to a another unseasonably chilly stretch during the middle part of next week.
While temperatures today will approach 50F under mostly sunny skies (making for a pretty nice day), a cold front will cross the area during the late evening hours and bring a bit shift in temperatures over the next 24 hours. Behind the front, winds will shift to the northwest and much colder air will drain into the area. Temperatures will tumble down into the 20s and lower 30s tonight (with an active breeze) and will struggle to climb out of the 30s tomorrow. In fact, most model guidance suggests daytime temperatures will only be in the middle 30s on Saturday.
