The combo of high pressure to our northwest and a storm system spinning in place to our east will keep a gusty northerly wind going across the area today. The wind will be particularly busy on the Mid and Outer Cape where gusts over 30 mph will be common through the morning hours. As of 6AM, Hyannis was gusting to 36 mph and Provincetown was gusting to 33 mph and speeds like this will continue for a good chunk of the day. Gale Warnings are flying for the coastal waters – not a fun day to be out on the water. The wind, combined with temperatures in the 30s, will make it feel quite chilly at times.
Winds will begin to relax tonight and should be noticeably lighter come Friday. Tomorrow will end up as the coldest day of the week (and likely the coldest over the next 7 days) as temperatures remain stuck in the middle 30s through the day.
