November – Colder, Drier than Normal

November 2023 is in the books and the month goes down as a chilly one and a somewhat dry one.

Across New England, temperatures were noticeably colder than average throughout the month. Boston registered a -1.7F departure for the month, Worcester a -1.4F, Hartford a -2.0F and Providence turned in a chilly -3.1F. Here on Cape Cod, the trend was, not surprisingly, the same. Hyannis closed out November 2023 with a -4.2F departure vs average. The coldest temperature recorded was 19F.

The month was somewhat dry too – with all 4 of the major climate sites reporting below average precipitation on the order of 1 to 2 inches. Hyannis only recorded 1.30″ of precipitation, which was 2.8″ off of the long-term average of 4.13 inches.
