A cold front passed over the area Thursday evening, shifting winds to the northwest and ushering in a chilly air mass to close out the work week.
Temperatures fell to the lower and middle 20s overnight and that’s where we’ve started our Friday, with gusty northwest winds to boot. In fact, wind chill values are in the single digits and teens this morning – a true winter feel.
Expect readings to slowly climb out of the 20s over the course of the morning, but to only top out between 30 and 35F for daytime highs. The strong northwest wind will relax later in the afternoon, but remain active through most of the day.
Temperatures will fall back into the upper 20s this evening…and eventually head toward 20F by Saturday morning (colder if winds can slacken off faster).
