Damp

We’re waking up to a fresh coating of snow this morning, which is actually a sign of milder air pushing into the region. Unfortunately, with the milder temperatures will come an extended period of unsettled weather for the second half of the work week.

A frontal zone will oscillate northward and southward over the region between now and Friday, resulting in a lot of cloud cover and several episodes of wet weather. The first came through last night, a second will push through tonight and tomorrow morning and a third will cross the region Thursday night into Friday morning. Each of these waves of moisture will bring us periods of rain, some of it falling heavily at times. By the time we get to Friday afternoon, a solid inch of precipitation is likely to have fallen across the area with some areas having picked up a bit more than that.

The National Blend of Models shows 1 to 1.25″ of rain across the area.
