Our Saturday started with heavy rain and strong wind but will end windy, mild and drier.
Strong low pressure over the Great Lakes is lifting into Canada and will sweep a cold front eastward across the region during the day today – pushing this morning’s nasty weather out to sea.
Behind this front, while clouds will tend to linger, drier air will push into the area as winds shift from the southeast to the southwest. Clouds will remain stubborn but we may see some breaks in the overcast or even some partial clearing at times. Initially, the airmass behind the frontal zone is not overly cold so temperatures, which are near 50F this morning, will hold in the lower to middle 50s through the day today…certainly not bad for mid-January!
It will, however, remain quite windy through the day.
