Mainly clear skies, very dry air, light winds and snow on the ground were the perfect ingredients for a long night of radiational cooling. Temperatures fell back to the 10s and 20s around the area overnight, with parts of the Upper Cape nearing 10F. Cold stuff!
The good news is, partial sunshine (which is getting stronger by the day) will boost temperatures quickly out of the 10s and 20s and back into the 30s this morning, with readings leveling off thereafter and hanging between 35 and 40F for the remainder of the day. While that’s still on the colder side of average, light winds will continue so it won’t feel all that bad.
