Mild air has (finally) spilled into the area. Temperatures fell back to near the freezing mark Thursday evening but subsequently began to climb through the night, reaching the middle and upper 30s by midnight and nearing 40F by morning. Temperatures have continued to climb this morning, reaching the middle to upper 40s around the Cape. Unfortunately, while we saw a few hours of bright skies and some sun this morning, most of the mild weather is going to be accompanied by cloud cover and eventually some showers. Expect dry weather to hang on for a good chunk of the daylight hours but showers will spill into the area late in the day and continue this evening. A couple of steadier/heavier showers are possible during the first half of the night. The image above is a simulated radar shot for 7PM this evening.
