More Rain!

The 3rd in our series of 4 rain-makers is approaching the area today…moving in later this afternoon and passing through the region tonight. With anomalously moist air lifting northward up the Eastern Seaboard – precipitable water values rising to nearly 1.5″ (think summertime) – this system will spread pockets of heavy rain across the area overnight tonight. A widespread soaking 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected across Southern New England, with the highest amounts likely coming over Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachsuetts. Here on the Cape, a solid 1 to 2 inches of rain is likely, with the highest totals closer to the canal where in excess of 2 inches of rain is possible.
