A cold front pushed into the area late Monday and Monday night, bringing increasing southerly winds, lots of clouds and eventually numerous showers, downpours and thunderstorms overnight. This frontal zone is in the process of shifting offshore this morning and sweeping the moisture out to sea. Consequently, while Tuesday has dawned murky and wet, better weather is on the way. Conditions will slowly improve over the course of the morning hours and as we push into the midday and afternoon time frame drier air will take hold and allow for clearing skies. Temperatures will climb to the lower and middle 70s and humidity levels will start to drop off (dewpoints are in the 60s this morning – definitely the first real muggy day of the warm season) as southwest winds become more westerly.
