And just like that…we’ve flipped the switch.
A very warm spring air mass has shifted into the Northeast, propelling temperatures well into the 80s across a big chunk of the region, with some towns even touching 90F on Tuesday. However, here on the Cape, a southwest breeze off the cooler waters kept temperatures in check, with readings topping out in the 60s and lower 70s. We can expect a similar story today as a busy southwest wind develops over the course of the day and ensures the uncomfortable temperatures remain over interior portions of Southern New England. So while we see temperatures in the 70s today, folks inland will once again be approaching 90F this afternoon.
