Showers Likely Monday

A frontal zone pressing eastward (the same weather system responsible for a widespread severe weather outbreak across the southern part of the United States the last few days) will move through our area on Monday. With mild air now firmly entrenched across the Northeast, this system poses no threat for winter weather and will instead bring several hours of shower activity to the area Monday morning.

While most of the rain will be on the light side, a few brief downpours are possible as the frontal zone approaches during mid-morning to midday. Precipitation should shift offshore thereafter and we may manage some partial clearing toward sundown. Total rainfall should be between 1/4 to 1/2 inch. In addition to the wet weather, a period of strong gusty southerly winds is likely.
