Mild southwesterly winds bumped temperatures to the middle and upper 40s Wednesday – making it the warmest day in 4 weeks (New Years Day). That said, a cold front is swinging across the region and temperatures will nosedive Wednesday night, reaching the upper 10s and lower 20s by Thursday morning…and readings will hold in the 20s all day on Thursday. This is likely to be the first of numerous big temperature swings over the next 7 to 10 days as the weather pattern shifts around a bit and our region oscillates between Arctic cold in Canada and much milder air over the Southeastern United States.
