Gray, Cool

One weather system slid south of the region last night – bringing a touch of light snow to extreme southern portions of the Cape (a dusting to a half inch in parts of Falmouth) – and another is gearing up to move into the area tonight and tomorrow. As a result, skies will be mainly overcast today (as is evident by the satellite imagery) as an abundance of high level moisture streams across the Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Any precipitation will hold off until very late tonight, when a touch of snow and sleet will develop before milder air moves in and changes things over to rain. A steady, soaking rain is expected for a good chunk of Thursday.
