A cold front slicing across the eastern third of the nation will push through New England tonight and head offshore Tuesday. Out ahead of this boundary, showers are expected to impact the area tonight…with wet weather developing in earnest after midnight and continuing into Tuesday morning. A few downpours are likely to impact the area overnight and a rumble of thunder can’t be ruled out. Rainfall totals of 1/2 to 1 inch of are expected across most of the area. Wet weather will shift offshore Tuesday morning with drying conditions and clearing skies taking hold during the second half of the day.
