Windy and Milder

Wednesday’s cool high pressure system shifted eastward and offshore overnight and as a result, winds have swung around to the south. That southerly flow is pushing noticeably milder air northward into the region today, ultimately sending temperatures back into the 50s by this afternoon. That said, it won’t be a particularly nice Spring day as clouds hang tough for much of the time and strong gusty southwest winds develop. In fact, that wind will be quite strong for a time midday into the afternoon, when gusts in excess of 40 mph are likely at times. An approaching cold front will increase the threat for showers tonight.
