Rain to Start Saturday

Developing low pressure will pivot through New England tonight and Saturday spreading a swath of rain – along with some embedded downpours and thunderstorms – across the six state region. This rather dynamic weather system will deliver a good soaking rain to a lot of New England, with some places in central and western areas seeing 1 to 2 inches. Here on the Cape, the worst of the weather will come Saturday morning as a band of showers, downpours and embedded thunderstorms lift across the area between about 5AM and 10AM. Thereafter, precipitation will taper down (though a few passing showers could still rotate across the area during the second half of the day) and skies will turn mostly cloudy. It’ll turn rather windy as the relatively strong low pressure lifts to our north. The image above is a simulated radar image from the high resolution NAM model, showing plenty of wet weather across the region around 8 to 9AM Saturday morning.
