Temperatures on Thursday climbed into the 70s across the Cape, with some spots over the bridge in Southeast Mass passing 80F (Plymouth and New Bedford both reached 80F for a high). Here on the Cape, Hyannis reached 76F – setting a new record high and topping out 16F above the aveage for the date (60F).
While a good chunk of October has been fairly seasonable, the month will be bookended by very mild stretches, ensuring yet another month of above average temperatures. With both today and tomorrow nearing and passing 70F respectively, we can expect more double digit positive departures.
Colder air will build back into the region on Sunday.
