Lots of ineffective November sunshine today.
A cold front passed through the area during the first part of last night, flipping winds around to the northwest and dragging down an abnormally cold air mass for this time year. Temperatures dropped to around 30F by dawn, with a gusty northerly wind, and won’t climb a whole lot today. Expect daytime readings to hold in the 30s despite plenty of sunshine. With the active wind, it will feel like it’s in the 20s.
That active northwest wind will diminish this evening and become light and variable overnight. That, combined with dry air and clear skies will allow temperatures to fall well down into the 20s across the region tonight. In fact, some spots could reach the upper 10s by Sunday morning.
Winds will turn around to the southwest over the course of the day on Sunday, boosting readings back into the 40s. For reference, the average high for November 25th in Hyannis is 51F.
