Thursday did indeed turn out to be a bit of a clunker weather-wise…with showers, passing downpours, some thunder and then ultimately a chilly wind-swept drizzle to close out the day. Thankfully, the weather system responsible for Thursday’s unsettled conditions has pushed seaward and much better weather is getting underway around the area. Looking ahead, there are no big storm systems on the horizon and we should enjoy a good deal of sunshine and mild temperatures throughout the weekend and into the first half of next week. This morning’s visible satellite image shows plenty of clear skies with just a few areas of cloud cover rolling southward through Eastern New England. Consequently, other than some patchy clouds in spots during the morning hours, expect a very nice day today with mainly clear skies and temperatures in the lower 70s.
