Strong Winds Wednesday

A strong cold front is going to pass through the region on Wednesday night, bringing a round of heavy rain and strong gusty south winds. Winds will increase throughout the day on Wednesday, and peak during the first half of Wednesday night. Expect sustained winds on the order of 20 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph developing during the day on Wednesday, with isolated gusts to 60 to 65 mph during Wednesday evening. This is likely to lead to some scattered tree and limb damage and some resultant power disruptions around the area. A High Wind Watch is posted.
