Low pressure advancing into the region will spread a shield of steady rain into the area today…with rain persisting off and on through most of tonight. A few episodes of heavier rain are likely later this afternoon and into the first half of tonight. Around 1 inch of rain is a good bet before things taper off overnight. Rain is likely to go over to some sleet and light snow very late tonight and continue into Saturday morning. A coating of snow is possible before things dry out Saturday afternoon.
