Expect fair weather to start the work week, as high pressure builds into the region behind Sunday’s storm center. Skies should average out partly to mostly sunny today but it’ll be on the colder side of things. Temperatures in the 10s and 20s to start the day will climb to the lower and middle 30s for afternoon highs – a solid 5 to 8F below the average for mid-February (average high on February 10th at Hyannis is 40F). A busy west wind will develop and add a chill to the air. If you’re looking for some signs of spring there isn’t much of note on the horizon as chilly weather, overall, will be the rule for the next 7 to 10 days. That said, sunsets are getting later and later. Today’s sunset is at 5:08PM – which is nearly a full hour later than it was in December and by month’s end it’ll be 5:30PM!
